Marie-Eve Yergeau

Marie-Eve Yergeau, PhD. is a development economist with over 8 years experience in international development research and project management. She has a strong background in data collection and analysis, and is specialized in poverty and inequality analysis. She has developed, managed, and realized projects on different themes such as natural resource governance including protected areas and forests, ecotourism, urban and periurban agriculture, food security, innovative finance, and poverty determinants.

Dr. Yergeau has worked as a development economist in government and academia where she has conducted a broad range of analysis and research work. Among this work, she has led an impact analysis of urban and periurban agriculture on welfare and food security in Mali for Global Affairs Canada, which included fieldwork data collection. She has also conducted an impact analysis of ecotourism and environmental policies in Nepal’s protected areas for IDRC, where she managed a household survey. Dr. Yergeau has extensive experience working with quantitative approaches including econometrics, poverty & inequality analysis tools, and impact evaluation methods.
