Ms. Nancy Yacoub is a Consultant for Universalia’s Environment, Security, and Conflict Transformation Practice. Her professional interests are primarily centered around mandates dealing with issues of social cohesion, resilience, and food security. Ms. Yacoub brings over ten years of experience working in the MENA region. Her work with the World Food Programme’s Egypt Country Office allowed her a firsthand account of understanding a wide range of development projects aimed at poverty alleviation, particularly in food systems and sustaining livelihoods in remote and impoverished areas. Ms. Yacoub’s responsibilities also included the direct monitoring and evaluation of the Syrian refugee crisis response. She was credited with co-piloting the Social Cohesion Score in Syria+5 crisis-response countries.
Her professional journey has also included collaboration with government and national stakeholders, given her experience with both the WFP and the United Nations Training and Research Institute in Geneva. At Universalia, she continues to work in these areas and has taken on Quality Assurance mandates for UN clients. Additionally, she has experience in education, having taught various age groups in Canada and Egypt. She is fluent in both Arabic and English and has preliminary knowledge in French.
