Ibitola Tchitou is a social demographer and independent consultant. She has nearly twenty years of experience as a researcher, evaluator, and manager of development programs and projects, having worked at the Demographic Research Unit of the University of Lomé (URD-UL). On behalf of the civil registration service of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in Togo, she notably led the program to improve civil registration and vital statistics systems.

A specialist on gender issues and social inclusion, her areas of expertise cover fertility, family dynamics, intergenerational relationships, education, and health. She has solid methodological skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Based in Togo, Ibitola holds degrees in population and health, sociology, and education sciences. She has spent time in Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Niger, Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, Rwanda, Switzerland, and Canada.
