Evaluation of integrated school canteen programs implemented by WFP Burundi

The evaluation of integrated school canteen programs funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands and the European Union and implemented by the office of the World Food Program, for the period 2017-2018, was a summative evaluation aiming to identify weaknesses, strengths and lessons learned from programs in two target areas. Its objective was to support the Government of Burundi and WFP Burundi in strengthening activities of the national school canteen program.

The evaluation covered WFP interventions in Burundi during the 2017-2018 period and took place between August 2018 and May 2019, with a data collection mission carried out in February 2019. For WFP in Burundi, the evaluation came at a critical time in WFP's action with the government in strengthening the national program of school canteens.
