Margot Rothman is a senior evaluator with over 30 years of experience in planning, monitoring and evaluating international development programmes in over 35 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Her fields of expertise include human rights, education, gender equality, child/adolescent development, and governance. She is well-versed in a broad range of evaluation approaches including developmental evaluation, utilization-focused evaluation, non-experimental and quasi-experimental design, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Rothman has conducted well over 50 evaluations, many as team leader, for bilateral donors, multilateral agencies, international foundations and NGOs. She has also supported organisations in developing their monitoring, evaluation and learning capacities, systems and tools. Ms. Rothman possesses a MA in Rural Development from the University of East Anglia (UK), a graduate degree in Public Administration from the Collège d’Europe (Belgium), and a BA in Political Science from Queen’s University (Canada). She is fluent in English and French, holding Canadian and French citizenship.
