Mrs. Micaro is a multilingual credentialed evaluator of the Canadian Evaluation Society and M&E practitioner with 17 years of experience in all aspects of monitoring and evaluation at the international. She specializes in the evaluation of women’s human rights, women’s empowerment and gender equality programming; interventions promoting the rights of persons with disabilities and their inclusion in society; advocacy and policy influence initiatives; movement building and capacity development interventions. Mrs. Micaro has also evaluation experience in the thematic areas of women, peace and security; education; social infrastructure; and water, hygiene and sanitation.
As a consultant for Universalia Management Group and other management consulting firms, Mrs. Micaro has supported and led over 40 formative and summative evaluation assignments (project and programme evaluations, portfolio reviews, organizational assessments, and operations audits) for multilateral and bilateral agencies, INGOs, and NGO consortia. She has supported organizations in meeting their needs by developing MEL systems at different scales and strengthening their M&E capacity. She is well versed in mixed methods research design, qualitative sampling, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and participatory techniques for in-person and virtual settings. She has applied knowledge of a broad range of planning, monitoring and evaluation methodologies (including results-based management and theory of change principles, contribution analysis, outcome mapping, outcome harvesting, utilization-focused evaluation, systems thinking, human rights-based approach, and feminist evaluation), with a focus on participatory and inclusive approaches.
Mrs. Micaro has conducted evaluation field missions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, as well as South and Southeast Asia.
