Universalia was contracted by the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages (OCOL) to facilitate a national discussion forum on the implementation of Part VII of the Official Languages Act and produce a summary record of the event. Approximately 100 representatives from federal institutions, Francophone minority communities, and Anglophone communities in Quebec participated in the forum. Their discussions focused on current practices and challenges associated with the implementation of Part VII. The main objective of the day was to promote a better understanding of the issues relating to this part of the Act, including the positive measures resulting from the amendment of the Act in 2005.
