Dr. Marie-Hélène Adrien is a senior consultant specializing in evaluation, governance assessment and program and organizational evaluations in international development. Over the past 30 years, she has conducted more than 150 assignments in Canada and 45 other countries for governments, multilateral agencies, bilateral agencies, the UN system, development banks and foundations. She has led and managed numerous large and complex evaluation assignments, evaluability studies, meta-analyses and policy reviews. A strong proponent of participatory methodologies, Dr. Adrien is equally comfortable working with grassroots organizations, government officials, private sector representatives, and Boards of Directors. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Créole and has many years of experience consulting in multicultural settings.
Dr. Adrien has contributed to the field of evaluation through her publications, including Enhancing Organizational Performance: A Toolbox for Self-assessment (IDRC, 1999), Organizational Assessment: A Framework for Improving Performance (IDRC, IDB, 2002) and Guide to Conducting Reviews of Organizations Supplying M&E Training (World Bank, 2002). She is the past President of the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS) and a lecturer for the World Bank and Carleton University International Programme for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET).
