Evaluation of BMGF investments in policy, advocacy and communication to support the enabling environment for biotechnology

Universalia has been recruited to conduct an evaluation of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) agricultural biotechnology policy and advocacy grants portfolio.

The evaluation will assess changes in the enabling environment for biotechnology in Sub-Saharan Africa and the extent to which BMGF grantees have contributed to such changes, and includes field visits to Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Nigeria. At the conclusion of the assignment, Universalia will provide BMGF with recommendations that will help inform the Foundation's future biotech advocacy investments.
